Sigma SD14 launch date postponed until march 2007
In a press release, Sigma has announced that they have postponed the launch date for the new SD14 Digital SLR until March 2007.
Sigma SD14 was announced at Photokina 2006, with launch date set on November but they have encounterd a problem which they are trying hard to solve.

The Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of the new, groundbreaking Sigma DP1 compact digital camera featuring a 14 megapixel FOVEON X3 direct image sensor (2652 × 1768 × 3 layers) as used in the Sigma SD14 digital SLR. The image sensor uses three silicon embedded layers of photo sensors, stacked to take advantage of silicon’s ability to absorb red, green and blue light at different respective depths.
Sigma has today announced the long awaited successor to the SD10, the new Sigma SD14. The SD14 features a Foveon X3 sensor with ‘14 megapixels’, those being delivered over three separate color sensitive layers, in a 2652 x 1769 x 3 configuration. In its optimum native output size (2652 x 1769) the SD14 offers approximately 35% more resolution.
Just a few weeks before the Photokina 2006 kicks of Sigma launches a website with some very interesting information about their upcoming digital SLR camera; the Sigma SD14. The teaser website of Sigma is not giving very in-depth information, but enough to make us think and scratch our head again.
