Olympus has announced the E-410, the world’s smallest, slimmest and lightest interchangeable-lens digital SLR camera.

The E-410 incorporates all the core features of Olympus E-System cameras, including the “Dedicated Digital Design,” “Dust Reduction” and “Live View” functions.

The Olympus E-System includes today 5 camera bodies, 17 ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses, and a wide range of accessories. The next generation of the E-System will be launched in 2007.

Olympus E-400 the world’s smallest digital SLR

Olympus E400 Digital CameraOlympus has announced a new ten megapixel compact digital SLR with the retro-good-looks of past Olympus film SLR’s,the E-400.

Other headline features are the Supersonic Wave Filter for dust reduction, a 2.5″ LCD monitor, three frames per second continuous shooting and an easier to use interface. In addition there’s also a new Zuiko Digital lens, the 14-42 mm F3.5-F5.6 which is set to become the E-400’s kit lens.

The slightly odd, sad news, for many of our readers is that this camera will not be available in North America (news I’m sure that will go down like a lead balloon on our forums). That makes it the first digital SLR not to have a worldwide release, so get ready for the grey imports. [Read more…]

The new Mju 725 SW is now waterproof to 5m, can survive being dropped 1.5m, and features the same 7.1MP resolution and 3x optical zoom as its predecessor.

Review: Olympus SP-510 UZ

Olympus SP 510 UZ Digital CameraOympus has announced a raft of new models in its FE, Mju (Stylus) and SP ranges. First up is the replacement for the SP-500UZ, the SP-510UZ. Aside from a silver paint job there’s a resolution increase to 7 million pixels, and several enhancements, including sensitivity up to ISO 4000 (1600 at full resolution).

With an Olympus SP-510 UZ by their side, photographers need never miss the action again. Thanks to its powerful 10x optical zoom lens (equiv. to 38-380mm on a 35mm camera) they’ll be able to reach out to distant subjects and bring them in for closer scrutiny. The 7.1 million pixel resolution means that every detail will be there to see. Should anyone need to delve deeper still, in 3.0 million pixel resolution, a Fine Zoom option can increase the magnification of the optical zoom to a phenomenal 15x.
