Kodak EasyShare V603

Kodak EasyShare V603 Digital CameraThe Kodak EasyShare V603’s smooth, sleek body contains a six-megapixel CCD imager and a Schneider-Kreuznach C-Variogon-branded 3x optical zoom lens with a fairly standard 36 to 108mm equivalent focal range.

For framing images, the V603 forgoes any form of optical viewfinder in favor of a large 2.5 inch LCD display that dominates the camera’s rear panel. Images are stored on Secure Digital/MultiMediaCards, or in 27MB of internal memory.

The Worst Digital Cameras

The Worst Digital Cameras
Every gift guide is the same. But when you get to the store, they always seem to be out of the best stuff. So you’re forced to make compromises and do the best you can out of the dreck that’s left. Here are the worst-scoring products testeded.

• Canon A70
This camera may look nice, be fairly cheap and even received pretty solid reviews from CNET and the like, but there are hidden factors lurking making this one lame camera. Users at Digital Camera HQ began experiencing a lot of hardware flaws throughout the life of this camera including purple lines across the LCD, blurred photos, unusual colors and an E18 Error. Kodak EasyShare C533 a basic budget camera

Posted in Kodak on 10-15-2006

Kodak Easyshare C533 Digital CameraThe Kodak EasyShare C533 is a basic budget camera that doesn’t pretend to be otherwise. This 5-megapixel point-and-shoot produces decent photos and responds quickly, but its flimsy-feeling build quality, tiny 1.8-inch LCD screen, and minimalist feature set keep the C533 firmly in the bargain bin.

Budget cameras aren’t known for having extremely rugged bodies, but the Kodak EasyShare C533 feels cheap, even compared to its sub-S$300 brethren. The C533’s chunky 187g, 35mm-thick light plastic body feels as if it came from a cereal box. Its control scheme is a bit button-heavy for a basic snapshot camera. [Read more…]

Kodak Easyshare V705 Digital Camera First Thoughts

Posted in Kodak on 10-15-2006

Kodak Easyshare V705 Digital CameraThe Kodak Easyshare V705 is the latest dual lens camera from Kodak. They have two versions, one that does ultra-wide (this one and the V570) and a version that does the long zoom (Kodak Easyshare V610). The 7.1 megapixel V705 is essentially a resolution upgrade from the 5 megapixel Kodak Easyshare V705 that came out at the beginning of this year.

The Kodak Easyshare V705 looks pretty much exactly the same as the V570, except that it’s now available in black, silver, and pink. I got the more readily available black model for the review. It still has a 2.5 inch, 230K pixel LCD. The dual lenses are covered by a sliding metal cover that makes a fun metallic sliding sound as it moves. The dual lenses are paired with two identical 7.1 megapixel sensors. [Read more…]

Review: Kodak Easyshare C875

Posted in Kodak on 09-21-2006

Kodak Easyshare C875 Digital CameraThe Kodak Easyshare C875 is currently the top of line in Kodak’s C-series. Typically, the C series cameras have been entry level, easy to use, and affordable.

The Easyshare C875, loaded with features, including manual modes, is sophisticated enough for the second time buyer or first time buyer who is looking for a camera with which they can learn the techniques of digital photography.

When it comes down to it, the Kodak Easyshare C875 is a good camera, but facing some stiff competition. Image quality was very good, ease of use was good and it has a good feature set. Where it falters is battery life and speed of operation. [Read more…]
