Advent Mp 10 Digital CameraEver since we published our review of the Polaroid i1032 - the camera has been surprisingly difficult to buy - so much so that it seems like nobody sells it anymore!

However, due to the camera being released under a number of different brands and model names, it has re-appeared, this time even cheaper. The Advent MP-10 is available for under £110 (£120 in store) from PC World.

The i1032 is a budget 10 megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom lens and a 2.4″ screen - it’s also known as the Praktica Luxmedia 10-X3 (also seen in Gold), BenQ C1000, Rollei da1325 Prego, Advent MP10 to name a few. [Read more…]

Panasonic paints special lacquer on Lumix

Posted in Panasonic on 11-28-2006

Panasonic FX07We love everything limited and we’re quite sure you’ll like this Lumix FX07 which comes in five unique designs.

Mind you, there are only 100 pieces for each make. The cameras are coated with a special lacquer finish and packed in a specially made paulownia wood box, Fareastgizmos wrote. Beyond that, technical specifications remain similar to the, erm, Panasonic FX07, i.e. 7 megapixels, 3.6x optical zoom, 28mm wide-angle lens and whatnots. There’s a price to pay, though, like every other toy that allows you to be one of the select few to own one. [Read more…]

Sony cameras recalled, won’t take pictures

Posted in Sony on 11-25-2006

Sony Logo Digital CameraSeems like laptop batteries aren’t their only concern.

Sony has discovered a couple of fairly substantial defects in eight Cybershot camera models. Turns out that the LCD “might not display images correctly.” What’s more, the cameras seems to have trouble taking pictures at all, and even when they do, it is not uncommon to find that “images could be distorted.” Naturally, as with the exploding batteries, Sony is offering to fix the problem for free.

Affected models range from those sold in September 2003 to January 2005, though they won’t say exactly how many cameras are having this problem. This isn’t even the first time Sony has recalled their digital cameras: Just last October, they found similar problems in 20 other models. [Read more…]

Samsung NV7 OPS Digital Camera
When Samsung first announced its NV-series of cameras, we thought the Korean chaebol finally did something right, at least in terms of design. In pictures, the NV-series looked alluring with a matte black exterior.

Samsung GX 1L Digital SLR

Posted in Samsung on 11-20-2006

Samsung GX 1L Digital CameraYou may get a strong sense of déjà vu looking at these pictures of the Samsung GX 1L . Don’t worry, it’s not a glitch in the Matrix; you really have seen it before.

I reviewed it back in July, but then it was called the Pentax *ist DL2. Samsung and Pentax have a joint development deal for digital SLR technology, and have launched their own versions of several key models including this one, the GX 1S and the new GX 10, which is actually a slightly re-modelled Pentax K10D.
